Women Empowerment Committee (Cell)
Introduction
St. Ann’s College for Women, Gorantla, Guntur, established in 1997, is committed to empowering women through value-based education, leadership development, and holistic growth. In alignment with the Vision, Mission, Motto, and Institutional Strategic Framework of the college, the Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) has been constituted to foster a safe, inclusive, equitable, and empowering environment for women students and staff.
The Women Empowerment Cell functions in accordance with:
- University Grants Commission (UGC) Guidelines
- NAAC Quality Indicators on Gender Equity and Student Support
- Constitutional Provisions of Equality under Articles 14, 15, 19, and 21
- Government initiatives related to Women Empowerment, Safety, and Inclusive Education
The Cell serves as a platform to educate, enrich, and empower women by promoting leadership, self-confidence, legal awareness, professional competence, emotional well-being, and social responsibility.
Inspired by the institutional philosophy represented through the Candle (Knowledge), Book (Wisdom), and Lotus (Resilience), the Women Empowerment Cell strives to transform young women into confident, ethical, self-reliant, and socially responsible citizens.
To empower women students intellectually, emotionally, socially, professionally, and ethically by nurturing leadership qualities, resilience, self-reliance, and lifelong learning in alignment with the vision of St. Ann’s College for Women and the spirit of Viksit Bharat.
