Parents Association Committee

The Parents Association Committee of St. Ann’s College for Women, Gorantla, Guntur serves as an important support system in strengthening the relationship between parents and the institution. The committee promotes active parent participation in the academic, disciplinary, and overall developmental activities of students.

The committee functions as a collaborative platform to maintain effective communication between parents, faculty members, mentors, and the college administration for the welfare, safety, and holistic development of students in alignment with NAAC quality initiatives and student support practices.

Objectives of the Committee

The Parents Association Committee aims to:

  • Strengthen communication between parents and the college.
  • Organize regular parent interaction meetings and counselling sessions.
  • Share information regarding students’ academic performance, attendance, discipline, and overall progress.
  • Support students’ academic growth, behaviour, emotional well-being, and personality development.
  • Create awareness among parents regarding college rules, policies, discipline, and institutional activities.
  • Encourage parent participation in academic, cultural, extension, and welfare programmes.
  • Build a cooperative and supportive relationship between parents and the institution.
  • Promote student welfare, safety, mentoring, and value-based education.
  • Maintain records of meetings, feedback, suggestions, and communications for institutional documentation and quality assurance.

The committee regularly undertakes the following activities:

  • Organizing Parent–Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to discuss academic performance, attendance, discipline, and student progress.
  • Conducting orientation programmes for parents regarding institutional policies, examination systems, mentoring practices, and student support services.
  • Facilitating interaction between parents, faculty mentors, Heads of Departments, and college administration.
  • Providing counselling support and guidance for students requiring academic or emotional support.
  • Creating awareness among parents regarding women safety, cyber safety, discipline, and career opportunities.
  • Encouraging parents to support students’ participation in co-curricular, extracurricular, extension, and community service activities.
  • Discussing student attendance, academic improvement plans, and behavioural development during review meetings.
  • Collecting feedback and suggestions from parents for institutional improvement and quality enhancement.
  • Promoting values, ethics, discipline, and holistic development among students through collaborative efforts.
  • Assisting in maintaining a safe, supportive, and student-friendly campus environment.
  • Coordinating with Mentoring System, Counselling Cell, Women Empowerment Cell, and Student Welfare Committees for student development initiatives.
  • Maintaining records of parent meetings, counselling sessions, feedback reports, and follow-up actions for NAAC documentation.
