Anti-Ragging Committee

Objective

St. Ann’s College for Women is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and ragging-free campus environment. The Anti-Ragging Committee functions in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission and the Government to prevent and eliminate ragging in all forms.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Committee undertakes the following responsibilities:

Ensure a ragging-free campus environment at all times
Implement anti-ragging regulations as per Government and University norms
Create awareness among students regarding the ill-effects and legal consequences of ragging
Monitor student behaviour in classrooms, hostels, and campus premises to ensure discipline
Receive, investigate, and address complaints related to ragging promptly and confidentially
Take strict disciplinary action against individuals involved in ragging
Conduct regular meetings, inspections, and surprise checks
Display anti-ragging notices, guidelines, and helpline information prominently on campus
Counsel students to promote harmony, mutual respect, and inclusiveness
Maintain proper records and reports of incidents, actions taken, and preventive measures

Undertaking Collection:Submission of anti-ragging affidavits by students and parents as per UGC norms

Surveillance Measures:Monitoring through faculty vigilance, surprise visits, and feedback mechanisms
Display & Communication:Posters, banners, and digital notices across campus highlighting anti-ragging rules and helplines
Collaboration with Authorities:Coordination with local police and legal authorities when required
Grievance Redressal:Prompt handling of complaints through a confidential and student-friendly mechanism

Institutional Commitment

The institution follows a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. Any student found guilty of ragging will face strict disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion, as per UGC regulations.
